HISTORY.
On sale today is a magnificent W113 230SL Pagoda. It was introduced in California in 1966 and was coded for sale as NATO 401 delivery. The body work is original with no welding and all original panels. It was imported to the UK in August 2021, which then had a sympathetic strip and was repainted in the original colour.
The wing lights to the front and rear fenders were removed during the paintwork to give it a more European look. The USA headlights are still retained and refitted. The engine is original and didn't need a rebuild, but all gaskets, seals were checked as part of a service and re-commission program. The carpets and all trim work are in beautiful condition, with all controls to the heaters functioning as expected. Fitted with period-looking blockley tyres. The soft top operates as it should with no rips or tears to the fabric in a fresh black.
This is an entry point Pagoda LHD 230 with no power steering in stunning condition, with paintwork 9.5/10 in condition. Spare keys, bills from UK work, upgraded period radio which is paired to your phone with no leads but still retains the original unit.
WHY BUY.
I personally drove this SL for over ten miles and can vouch for how good it is to drive. Nice weighty steering and a proper driver's car, starts without any hesitation, cold, warm and hot. I had the confidence to drive all day without any issues. I was so impressed by how nice this Pagoda is as an entry point model, and the price, you just have to consider for such an original example. It has never seen a welder or new panels, so this really indicates it's a must if you are in the Pagoda market with a lower budget.
