1991 Mercedes-Benz 500SL R129 RHD Automatic

HISTORY.

This stunning R129 500SL started life in Guernsey in 1991 until the year 2000, it was then imported back to the UK until 2013, and then taken back to Guernsey until 2022, still with the first owner.  The 2nd Owner has owned it to the current date. So it is only 1 previous owner vehicle. Painted in the beautiful Almandine Red metallic paintwork, matched with a cream mushroom leather interior. The History file is documented throughout its life with all matching keys, wallet, and service book.  It has recently, in 2024, had a healthy investment made to bring everything in line mechanically and cosmetically to the owner's personal standards, a sum of over £15000.

The lower half of the sacco boards, alongside the front and rear bumpers, has been repainted in a high-gloss finish to match the body colour. The early models would, in most cases, have a satin finish, but the first owners decided to enhance this.

The condition is remarkable and one word stunning, everything is right and it drives right, perfectly operating soft top with all controls in top order.  The interior shows little or no wear for its low mileage of just 52'000 miles. A mileage that can be used and enjoyed as the owner often did across Europe to Switzerland.

Those who know that a very early R129 with orange indicators is not easy to find now, and with such a 1 previous owner and low mileage, what is there not to like?  These 32-valve quad cam V8s are a joy on the road, and the performance is staggering for a car now over 33 years old.  The wheels have been upgraded to a generation from the mid-nineties, another owner's choice.
